General specifications

All blocks to be kiln dried EWP with a moisture content 8-12%

All blocks should have the pitch set at an industry standard

All blocks should be knot free

All blocks should be wane free

All blocks should be crack free

All blocks should be free of sap pockets

All blocks should be cut square

All blocks should have milled edges and one clean face. "Hit and miss" is ok on one face

No tapered blocks

No wavy edges

No cupping

All blocks should be clear with no stain (stain blocks can be pulled and saved if need be)

All blocks to be stacked on pallets as tight as possible and tally to allow for air spaces

 

Thickness

4/4 blocks to be 7/8" thick (22.2250 mm),
plus or minus 1/32" (.7938 mm)

5/4 blocks to be 1 1/4" thick (31.75 mm),
plus or minus 1/32" (.7938 mm)

3" to 6" blocks to be of random lengths of  5 7/8" to 22" long
(149.225 mm to 558.8 mm) with an average length of 10" (254 mm)

8" blocks to be of random lengths of  7" to 17" long (177.8 mm to 431.8 mm) with an average length of 10" (254 mm)

 

Packing

All blocks to be stacked on pallets 42 x 42 with no more than 775bf per pallet.

All pallets to be squarely stacked for shipping and tally purposes.

All pallets to be wrapped tightly with stretch wrap with top boards and bands across the top.

No staples in the blocks.

All pallets to marked with size, vendors name and board footage of the pallet

Pallets to have at least 2 3/4" bottom fork clearance
